African Dawn Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary, situated near Thornhill just off the N2 between Jeffreys Bay and Gqeberha, is a safe sanctuary for cheetahs, servals, caracal, monkeys, squirrels, mongooses, meerkats and crocodile, as well as numerous buck species including grysbok, grey duiker and blue duiker. It is also home to the Knysna loerie, the laughing dove and the vibrant bishop, as well as the majestic black eagle, handsome Cape vultures and the endangered blue crane.
