AN otherworldly experience right at our doorstep; this is the newly renovated Unwind tapa bar. Located in the Jbay surf village, this vibrant restaurant is a part of the Infood group and is sure to delight the senses.
“We love evolving and changing according to the town’s needs and we felt that our lovely town really needs a place where people can go to unwind with their friends and family.
“After work for a cocktail and tapas, brunch with friends to catch up and quality time with family,” says Erenskia Gouws, manager at Infood Bakery and Deli, as well as coordinator and planner of all catering and events.
When you visit Unwind, you are in for quite a treat. They still offer their famous and oh-so-decadent waffles on the menu but in addition to that you can enjoy an array of delicious tapas – Korean cauliflower, marinated Greek olives, pommes frites, pizzetta and so much more.
You can also relax with a cocktail while enjoying the view of the ocean.
With such an amazing view of the ocean, this restaurant truly is the perfect place for any occasion. Gouws says that they are particularly excited about the sunset sessions that they will host on Saturdays with DJ LokkaVox, sure to become a local favourite.
“We are also really focusing on using Unwind as an event venue – hosting weddings, wine tasting, festivals, private celebration for birthdays, bridal shower, baby showers, anniversaries and anything you can think of.”
“We are still bubbling with excitement; our Bubbles Festival that took place on December 3 was so memorable.
“We had over 40 different bubbles that you could taste, with vendors coming from far and wide to participate.
“We also had live music from Steven Sawyer, The Watsons and DJ LokkaVox (Anki),” Gouws said.
During the day there were art exhibitions from Martin Bakker and Steven Bibb, a Christmas making wreath demo from Pieter Kok, and handmade Christmas cookies from Zoey’s Cookies.
“We are so excited about Unwind; we have an amazing team, and we can’t wait for to share our passion with all of you.”
