Through meticulous investigation and collaboration conducted between Humansdorp and Kariega Crime Intelligence, three suspected dangerous criminals who are believed to be linked to a triple murder, were apprehended at a house in Jeffreys Bay yesterday afternoon, November 16.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that on Thursday afternoon, a search warrant was executed at a house in Camphor Street in Jeffreys Bay where the three suspects, aged 23, 33, and 34 years old were arrested.
She said on searching the house, three unlicensed firearms and ammunition were recovered.
Naidu said that it is further alleged that these suspects may be involved in a triple murder that took place in Kamesh on Tuesday evening, November 14.
“The victims were shot and killed while they were seated in a car outside a discount store on Ntshinindo Street, Mandela Village in Kamesh,” said Naidu.
She said that the intelligence team was assisted by the Tactical Response Team (TRT) from Motherwell as well as Public Order Policing (POP) members from Cradock.
Naidu said that police also confiscated seven cell phones and a Toyota Corolla vehicle.
“The suspects are detained on charges of three murder counts and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition,” said Naidu.
She said that they are expected to appear in court on November 20.
