Police in Humansdorp are investigating a case of murder and
attempted murder after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed while a 12-year-old
boy sustained a gunshot wound in the thigh earlier today on July 19.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it
is alleged that at about 07:50 today the two teenagers were seen running from a
group of males that were chasing after them.
“As they ran into an open space between Besembos Street and
Pendoring Street in Gill Marcus, both victims were shot,” said Naidu.
She said Juvandre September (17) was fatally wounded while a
12-year-old sustained a gunshot wound in his thigh.
Naidu said the injured boy was taken to a hospital in
Gqeberha.
She said the motive for the shooting is yet to be
established.
“Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted
murder. No suspects have been arrested,” said Naidu.
