RESIDENTS and visitors can put their taste buds to the test – tasting from caramel to aloe and fynbos and even sea salt.
Where?
Pabala Private Nature Reserve, situated between Loerie and Hankey in the Gamtoos Valley, offers a unique honey tasting and bee education experience for young and old.
The sweet experience consists of a short educational talk about the importance of bee conservation, followed by the highlight of the event: the delicious honey tasting – pure honey from the bees at Pabala.
There might even be an opportunity to taste honey straight from a hive – quite a sticky, but mouth-watering, affair.
The reserve is currently home to more than 200 hives, which are set to be increased to 600 in the next two years.
