In a bid to save water, the Kouga Municipality informed
residents on July 6, that they have turned off the taps at various municipal public
facilities.
One such facility which has been affected includes the taps
to the baths at Jeffreys Bay Caravan Park.
“Holiday makers at the Jeffreys Bay Caravan Park will only
be allowed to shower, the section with the baths will be closed.”
According to the municipality, some of the ablution facilities
at the main beach area will also be closed while the showers at the main beach
will remain closed.
The announcement follows as the municipality continues to encourage
residents to save water to avoid taps running dry in the drought-stricken area.
