TWINKLING festive lights, angels, wrapped gifts, snowmen, Santa’s reindeer, and sleigh… and a whole lot of adrenaline-filled action and entertainment – all jam-packed into a not-to-be-missed line-up.
Residents and visitors alike are in for a feast of fun this December as Jeffreys Bay Tourism hosts JBay Summer Fun, in conjunction with Kouga Municipality, from Saturday, 14 December 2024.
The festivities – ranging from Christmas shows, Bester the Rhino children’s show to various competitions, as well as a fun run and live music – are set to end with a bang on Tuesday, 31 December 2024, with a fireworks display at the main beach area by Mayor Bornman.
Opening of the Season

The opening of the season kicks off on Saturday, 14 December, with a fun-filled programme featuring kids’ entertainment, a Christmas show, fire dancers, and at 20:00, a live ABBA performance by Goodnight Productions at the Amphitheatre down at the main beach area. This will be followed by the official switching-on of Christmas lights by Mayor Bornman at 21:30. The JBay Lights Tour will also be launched on the day.
Arts exhibition by Kouga Arts society

This year, JBay Summer Fun includes an art exhibition at the Newton Hall daily from 11:00 – 16:00 by the Kouga Arts Society.
KAMPHOER – The story of Susan Nell

J Bay Lights tour
From 14 December 2024 to 31 December 2024, between 19:00 and 22:00 daily, various homes, businesses, and tourist attractions will be decorated with Christmas lights to enjoy. Take a drive and show the children the spectacular display of lights in town.
A Taste of local @ The Mall

On Saturday, 21 December, the area at Fountains Mall, also known as The Werf, will be filled with various local produce to taste. Ranging from wine, rum to gin, come and explore the tastes of local. A night market with food stalls and live performances will make this a memorable evening. Santa Claus is set to make a special appearance, spreading holiday cheer by distributing sweets and posing for photos with the children.
Music and Picnic in the Park

A Music and Picnic in the Park event will add to the fun at Dogwood Park on Saturday, 28 December 2024, from 16:00 to 22:00.
For those seeking delightful bites, food trucks will be on hand, offering scrumptious treats for purchase from 16:00 to 22:00 throughout the day. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets and picnic baskets for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
New Year’s Eve Bash

Adding more excitement to the celebration, a Beach Fun Run of 5km will take place at the Main Beach on Tuesday, 31 December 2024, starting at 09:00. The amphitheatre will continue to be a hub of activity as Ace Models JBay presents Mr and Miss JBay Summer Fun.
The day’s festivities will also feature performances by various local and Eastern Cape performers.
Adding a lively twist to the day, a Battle of the DJs and a Show Your Voice talent show will take centre stage, promising to round off the fun with energetic and entertaining moves and voices.
