Kouga Municipality is proud to announce a special public event, in collaboration with Graslaagte Primary School and the South African Police Service (SAPS), to honour Manie Libbok, the South African Springbok rugby player who achieved remarkable success in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 11, from 10:00 to 13:00 at Graslaagte Primary School in Humansdorp and at Fountains Mall from 13:30 to 15:00.
Executive Mayor, Hattingh Bornman, will be present at the event to deliver a word of appreciation and to emphasise the significance of Libbok’s achievements for the community, especially the youth.
“Libbok, a native of Humansdorp and former Graslaagte Primary School learner, has become an inspiration to our community with his exceptional accomplishments on the international rugby stage,” said Kouga Executive Mayor, Hattingh Bornman, who will be present at the event to deliver a word of appreciation and to emphasise the significance of Libbok’s achievements for the community, especially the youth.
“We are thrilled to celebrate his success on his home turf.”
According to Bornman, Libbok’s extraordinary accomplishments bring honour not only to himself, but also to the community.
“Sports have the power to unite us all, and we are excited to celebrate Libbok’s achievements with the entire community.”
Given the time sensitivity of this event and the possibility of weather-related complications, the municipality urges the community to stay updated by following their Facebook Page for the most current information and any potential event changes.
