THE SPCA Assisi in Humansdorp is in desperate need of a helping paw to give its run-down small animal pound a much-needed facelift.

According to SPCA Control Officer Rickie Vorster, there is an urgent need to refurbish the dilapidated premises, as some of the areas are unusable – especially the runners which currently cannot be utilised

“Home to over 50 dogs and cats, these runners at the SPCA serve as a vital play and exercise area for the animals.

“Without the runners the animals are couped up in their separate cages.”

Building material needed to refurbish the runners include poles, fencing, bricks, cement, sand, wire, shade net, nails and screws.

They are furthermore in need of big plastic containers for safe storage, as well as leashes and carrier boxes to transport animals.

For more information, contact Vorster at 042 295 2814.
