JEFFREYS BAY – The public is urged not to fall victim to a scam that is circulating on social media purportedly related to SAPS vacancies in Jeffreys Bay.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, this fake message is mostly circulated via WhatsApp and contains the false name of a captain purportedly working for the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Jeffreys Bay, who must be contacted for queries about vacancies.

“The SAPS would like to inform the public that this is a scam. All available vacancies are advertised through proper and credible media platforms, including its website,” said Nkohli.
“For any available SAPS vacancies, residents should verify them at the nearest police station.”
Nkohli said that police have opened an inquiry to unmask the culprit(s) and to lay criminal charges.
