Detectives in Humansdorp are appealing to residents in Gill Marcus, Humansdorp to assist in tracing the suspects involved in a shooting incident, which left one person dead, and three others injured on March 31.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that at about 20:00 on March 31, a group of friends were sitting at a taxi pick-up point in Melkhout Street, drinking and smoking when a group of about five or six unknown men approached them.
“Shots were fired at the group and the victims started running,” said Naidu.
She said Angelito Smith (21) died after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds while three additional men, aged between 16 and 56, were also injured as they sustained gunshot wounds.
“Police are investigating a case of murder and three counts of attempted murder. The motive for the shooting is under investigation,” said Naidu.
