An elusive murder suspect, who has been in the radar of the investigating officer for days was finally nabbed in Jeffreys Bay on Sunday, May 15.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, on Sunday at about midday, an off duty investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Sphiwo Jacobs received information about an elusive murder suspect, and he placed himself on duty and managed to trace and track him to a shack that was erected in the bushes near Kabeljous, Jeffreys Bay.
“The suspect was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of an elderly woman, Nomnyama Matole (73), whose body was found inside her house in Sodladla Street, Weston, Hankey on May 1,” said Nkohli.
He said a 27-year-old suspect was positively linked to the crime and is due to appear in the Hankey Magistrate’s Court today, May 17, on a charge of murder.
