Charne Scorgie, from Jeffreys Bay, was announced as a finalist for the 2022 Mrs SA, on July 1, at the Winter Ball, hosted by Emperors Palace, along with 29 other powerful women.

For the first time ever, 30 finalists were selected instead of 25.

Due to the high calibre of the semi-finalists this year, the judges had a tough time narrowing the list down and made the unanimous decision to select 30 finalists.

The judges panel consisted of Jacqueline Ferns, Storm Johnson, Dr Fezile Mkhize, Tansey Coetzee, Mankoana Nhlebela and principal judge, Matapa Maila.

The fabulous event started out with a red carpet to remember with the title sponsor, The Phangela Group’s elite security team setting the scene.

MC’d by internationally acclaimed Jo-Ann Strauss, the event started with a bang with entertainment by The Muses.

The excitement in the room grew as everyone watched the semi-finalists take the stage in stunning eveningwear.

The evening culminated with the independent auditing team, PKF Octagon taking the official results to stage, and the top 30 finalists being announced.

“The Mrs South Africa organisation’s ethos is to empower, uplift and inspire the women of South Africa, and I am truly honoured to be able to continue on this life-changing journey,” said Scorgie.

“Please follow my journey on social media as I represent our beautiful province. Lastly, I would like to thank my silver sponsors, De Viswijf Restaurant, Drommedaris, CVTS Academy and dot Linde for contributing to my journey.”
