TO take his career in the entertainment industry to new heights, rapper, entrepreneur, and aspiring author Teboho Sokopo from Jeffreys Bay, recently joined Cape Town-based talent agency, Foreign Pack Management.
As previously reported, Sokopo began his career as a full-time rapper in 2011 and has since released multiple singles, extended plays (EPs), and his first mixtape, Fresh Prince of JBay, in 2021, which was streamed a million times in the first year.
In addition to expanding his music career, he has also worked hard to establish his record label, Empact Music Group, his podcast titled Episode Network, and write his first novel, which is yet to be published.
Formerly known by his stage name, Keemo Banks, Sokopo has since changed his brand name to Slum Ricci after online hackers stole his original brand name.
Despite a growing career, he said he was ready to take his career to new heights by joining Foreign Pack Management recently.
“I decided to join the agency because I trust my career will reach greater heights with their marketing strategies. I also believe that my marketing skills and strategies will further assist in elevating my career,” said Sokopo.
While he continues to search for the perfect publisher for his novel, Sokopo is currently working on new music, which he plans to release at a later stage.
“Partnering with Foreign Pack Management is a major step forward for me. I’m excited to work with a team that shares my vision and drive to push the boundaries of creativity and business. This is just the beginning of something big,” said Sokopo.
Shaun Parnell, talent manager at Foreign Pack Management, said that they were excited to officially partner with Sokopo.
“This exciting collaboration marks a pivotal moment in both Slum Ricci’s journey and the entertainment landscape as we work together to unlock new levels of success, creativity, and innovation,” said Parnell.
He describes Sokopo as an emerging artist in the South African music scene who pushes boundaries by redefining the rap genre with his raw talent and unapologetic style.
Parnell further said that Sokopo’s artistic prowess extends far beyond music.
As a graphic designer, aspiring author, and seasoned entrepreneur, he said Sokopo is on the journey to build an impressive, multifaceted brand that resonates with a global audience.
“By joining forces with Foreign Pack Management, Slum Ricci is now set to elevate his career to even greater heights. Our team will work alongside Slum Ricci to strategically expand his musical reach, develop his brand identity, and amplify his entrepreneurial ventures. Together, we will continue to build on Slum Ricci’s legacy, taking his artistry and business endeavours to new audiences and untapped markets,” said Parnell.
“Foreign Pack Management is honoured to be a part of Slum Ricci’s journey, and we are excited about the limitless possibilities this partnership brings. With our expertise in entertainment management, brand development, and marketing, we are confident that this collaboration will reshape the future of South African and international entertainment.”
