In a bid to spread holiday cheer, the Kouga Municipality invites all residents and local businesses to light up their homes and premises for the festive season.

“There is nothing like Christmas trees, lights and decorations to create a festive vibe,” said the Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks.

“This will go a long way towards ensuring that the Christmas spirit shines brightly across our regions, despite the numerous challenges we face – including the ongoing drought.

“What we would, ultimately, like to achieve is a genuine sense of Christmas across our suburbs and town.”

The municipality will be switching on the festive lights at the main beach in Jeffreys Bay on Saturday, December 10, at 21:00 as part of the official opening of the season.

This will be followed by a fireworks show at 21:10.
