The dilapidated house of Nombabhaso Mani (73), a resident of Thornhill, was given a complete revamp by Kouga Municipality’s community services department, in conjunction with the Office of the Mayor.

After weeks of hard work, new windows and doors were installed, while the walls were given a fresh coat of paint and the roof was repaired.

A cement walkway has been added from the front door to the street.

The kitchen was equipped with a new sink and refrigerator donated by the planning, development and tourism department at Kouga Municipality.

The bathroom was also upgraded. Mani also received a brand-new wheelchair from the municipality.
