The Kouga region is set to make a strong showing at the upcoming SA 8 Ball Pool Nationals, with a team of talented players ready to represent the Eastern Cape in this prestigious tournament. The event will take place at the Ultimate Pool Centre in Belville South, Cape Town.
Venue and dates
The tournament will be held at the WCPU Ultimate Pool Centre, a well-known venue in the South African pool community. The competition will be divided into three categories:
- Juniors (u/18 and u/23): September 22–27
- Opens (All ages): September 29–October 5
- Seniors (40 years plus): October 6–12
Kouga’s representatives
- The Kouga region is proud to field a team of skilled players across all categories, each bringing their unique strengths to the table.
Juniors:
- Caidan Seejram: Competing in the u/18 category, Seejram is a rising star, eager to make a mark at the nationals.. Leon de Beer: An u/23 referee, De Beer will ensure the games are played fairly and smoothly.
Opens:
- Jean du Rand, Steve Bovana, Douglas Ray, and Freddie Leander: These players are set to compete in the open category, bringing a mix of experience and strategy to the competition.
Seniors:
- Leon Nel, Darrin Brent, Cedrick Swartbooi, and Jonathan Brown: These seasoned players will represent Kouga in the senior category, using their years of experience to navigate the intense competition.
- Adrian du Plessis: Serving as the team manager, Du Plessis will lead the seniors, ensuring that the team is well-prepared and focused throughout the tournament.
Broader representation from Eastern Cape
In addition to the Kouga team, the Eastern Cape will also be represented by players from Kariega, East London, and Despatch. This collective effort highlights the depth of talent in the region, with players from various towns uniting to compete at national level.
