A man tragically drowned at the Seekoei River Lagoon at Paradise Beach in Jeffreys Bay on January 6, while two others were successfully rescued.
According to a statement issued by the Kouga Municipality, a tragic incident unfolded at the Seekoei River Lagoon where a drowning occurred at around 11:45.
As a result, there was comprehensive response from on-site personnel, who were proficiently trained in water rescue techniques, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Emergency Services also assisted.
The municipality further said that during the drowning incident, one man lost his life, while two other individuals were successfully rescued and brought to safety.
“The municipality is now conducting a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the drowning. The investigation will include a review of response protocols and any external factors that may have contributed to the outcome.”
