The
2023 Park Off Music Festival has re-established itself as the fan-favourite J-Bay
Surf Festival event, with festival headliners GoodLuck, Desmond and the Tutus,
Muzi, Steven Sawyer and Jeremy Loops, drawing in massive crowds of music-lovers
from across the country.

The
Park Off Music Festival took place from July 13 to July 16 at the Supertubes
Park in Jeffreys Bay.

Musician
and multi-hyphenate Muzi, a first-time visitor to the small surf town of
Jeffrey’s Bay, made his Park Off Music Festival debut at this year’s event.

His
lively performance was met with an enthusiastic response by the high-energy
crowds, who were eager to participate in each of the four nights of festivities
following this year’s Corona Open J-Bay.

Jeremy
Loops, an avid surfer himself, holds a special connection to Jeffrey’s Bay. The
hit-maker is no stranger to the J-Bay Surf Festival, having performed at the
2019 event.

Park
Off organiser Graham Kennedy said, “It’s the perfect fusion of two of my favourite
worlds, world-class surfing and incredible local music. It doesn’t get any
better than this.”

Loops
was joined on stage by band members and long-time collaborators Mr Sakitumi,
Motheo Moleko, Devin Jones and Jamie Faull.

Desmond and the Tutus performed at the 2023 Park Off Music Festival in Jeffreys Bay.

Following
his performance, which was the most well-attended concert on the roster, the
musician fondly described the experience as “a starlit spectacle”.

Festival
returnees GoodLuck, and Desmod and the Tutus delivered memorable performances,
with lead singers Julia Harding, and Shane Durrant taking the opportunity to
crowd-surf during their respective shows.

“This
year trumped last year. We had great numbers and three sold-out shows. We can
only elevate from this point onwards. Expect some more interesting acts next
year,” said Kennedy.

“Teamwork
truly does make the dream work.”

Kennedy further said the success of the festival would not have been possible without the tech,
sound and lighting prowess of Graeme Baker and his team from LEDVision.

In
addition to the resounding success of the concerts, Park Off Music Festival
also pulled off a successful and well-attended after-party schedule at The
Jolly Dolphin, with a line-up packed with local DJ acts including Vega, Celso
Fabbri, R&R, Jay Kay, Sion, Lovers, Los Jetsons, Rimix, Jake White Disco,
Ronald Rowley, Dean Fuel, Detroit, Ronald Rowley, Faff & Foos, and L.H.O.

Concluding
the festival with a bang, was a post-finals day, three-hour-long DJ set
