After hosting their annual Christmas light display at their home in Wavecrest, Jeffreys Bay, in December last year, Clive and Elmarie Husband were able to raise a total of R13 000 for the Jeffreys Bay Animal Rescue.

Irma Morris, from JBay Animal Rescue, said the light display at the home in Wavecrest was an absolute delight for the locals and visitors to their town, who visited the home every year with family, friends, and especially their children.

She said Christmas was all about love and giving and thanks to the generous cash donations made by visitors who contributed to Clive and Elmarie’s donation box in aid of JBay Animal Rescue, they were able to collect a whopping R13 000.

Irma said the donation will go a long way in helping the hundreds of destitute animals in the surrounding townships of Jeffreys Bay.

“On behalf of everyone, a huge thank you and appreciation to Clive and Elmarie for these awesome donations every year,” said Irma.

“We, at Animal Rescue, would also like to thank the public for their generosity and especially Johan Deysel, for his valuable assistance every year.

“We also wish to thank Andre Botha and his team from JBay Paints for the incredible R10 000 donation. Please support this wonderful company in Jeffreys Bay.”

“This money will go a long way towards sterilising dogs and cats in Jeffreys Bay and the surrounding areas.”

She said without the generosity of all these incredible people, they would not be able to maintain the sanctuary or feed and medicate all the animals.

Irma also requested that the public support their Animal Rescue Charity Shop in Jeffrey Street, Jeffreys Bay.

She said people were welcome to donate all unwanted items which they sell at their shop.

“All money earned goes directly to the animals to make a better life for them all. In particular, a large part of the shop money pays off our huge vet account every month,” said Irma.
