The Centre of Grace Foundation has broadened its fundraising initiatives by acquiring the help of London-based fine dining chef, Joshua Levack.
Chef Levack, who is the mind behind Meals for Autism, says the initiative is a social enterprise which exists at the intersection of the private and volunteer sectors, and seeks to provide financial benefits with social goals, such as funding the programmes and services provided by the Centre of Grace Foundation.
The centre is a not-for-profit organisation in the Kouga region providing integrated services to children with autism. Here the abilities and gifts of every autistic child are dignified, and their neurodiversity accepted, appreciated and celebrated. This supports and enhances their mission and purpose to provide equitable access to health, education, support services and care for autistic children and their families.
Meals for Autism served its first meal last Friday, a wholesome and generous portion of lasagne prepared by Chef Levack.
Meals for Autism was meant to take place monthly, but since its inception requests from the local community have been for a weekly service, and Chef Levack has responded by adding Butter Chicken Curry and Rice and Vegetarian Curry and Rice to this week’s menu.
“Meals for Autism is meaningful and memorable. It is all about enjoying wholesome food prepared with responsibly procured quality ingredients, and a philosophy that infuses this food journey with supporting and promoting programmes to assist in promoting autism services offered to children and communities by the Centre of Grace Foundation.”
