STEPS have been taken to improve services and customer care at the Kouga Traffic Department.
Following on the introduction of a telephone booking system, the old Council chambers at the department have been converted into a work station better suited to service delivery.
“We have also requested more Live Enrolment Units (LEUs) from the Department of Transport and are busy training more staff,” Mayor Horatio Hendricks said.
He said learner’s licence tests and vehicle licence renewals could also be done at the Hankey satellite station at the municipal offices in the town.
The Traffic Department also brought its services closer to other towns this past quarter when they set up a mobile unit in the foyer of the Jeffreys Bay main office for locals to check if they have outstanding speeding fines.

Die Verkeersdepartement het ook onlangs hul dienste makliker bereikbaar vir Jeffreysbaaiers gemaak. ‘n Verkeerspan het hul mobiele eenheid na Jeffreysbaai se hoofkantoor gebring, sodat bestuurders kon uitvind of hulle enige uitstaande boetes het.
