The temperature is dropping and residents across the region are already reaching for comforting soup, warming hot chocolate, and winter woolies and blankets.
“So many of our less-fortunate residents are unequipped for this cold weather – some walking around barefoot without jerseys or jackets,” said Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks.
“Not having warm clothing does not only result in illness, but also means that some residents cannot go to work, or children attend school when it rains, due to not having an extra set of dry clothing. Thus, the effects are far-reaching.
“As the Kouga Municipality, we would like to ensure that they stay warm and healthy by kitting them out for winter.
“We can, however, not do this without the generous help of our wonderful residents. Help us to spread love and warmth this winter by supporting our winter campaign: Winter Woolies – Keep Kouga Caring.”
According to Hendricks, every employee and councillor is, furthermore, challenged to donate as many warm winter woolies as possible.
“Help us to keep our residents warm, dry, and healthy this winter,” urged Hendricks.
