The Jeffreys Bay Classic Car Club (JBCCC) will on Saturday, July 16, present their delayed Annual Classic Car Show at Die Werf, Fountains Mall.

This event will combine three events on one occasion.

In prior years the Keith’s Picnic was held in honour of Keith Marsh at Supertubes Park and the Johan Marais Memorial, in honour of the first club chairperson, who was also a founder member.

The 11th anniversary of the formation of the club will also be celebrated at this event.

One of the event organisers, Brian Minnaar, said, “On July 17, 2011, during the first Builders Express Auto Show, there was a decision by Johan Marais, Tom du Toit and Peet van der Walt to establish a car club for Jeffreys Bay and surrounds. Tom suggested the name Jeffreys Bay Classic Car Club – JBCCC and his suggestion was unanimously accepted.

“The enthusiasm of classic car owners was such that about 30 members joined immediately. We are active on Facebook, group and page and WhatsApp. We have monthly social events to display our cars.”

Minnaar added, “We invite classic car and classic motorcycle enthusiasts to join us in displaying their vehicles as part of the celebrations and invite the public to share with us the history of classic cars.”

Food stalls will be available to feed the hungry. Drivers and one passenger of each vehicle will be allowed free entry. All other persons above the age of 16 will be required to pay an entrance fee of R20.

Entrance to Die Werf will be via the western glass doors located close to Pick n Pay and Clicks.

“We are thankful to Fountains Mall owners and management for making Die Werf available for this historic and memorable event.”
