I see robins, I see birds’ nests. Butterflies too. Flowers too. Everything is growing, the wind is gently blowing. Spring is here. Spring is here.

Gear up for the first-ever Kouga Humansdorp Lentefees that is set to ‘bloom’ at Nico Malan High School in Humansdorp on August 31 and September 1.

The event – a highlight on the sporting, agricultural and cultural event calendar – will play host to the First choice 7’s rugby elite tournament. Some of South Africa’s top high schools such as Paarl Boys High (Paarl), Monument High School (Krugersdorp), Grey College (PE) and Outeniqua High School (George) forms part of the 16 high schools to battle it out on the rugby field.

The festival will furthermore see an array of activities: local food and market stalls, as well as business, vehicle annd agricultural exhibitions. Exhibitors such as Dirk Ellis Volkswagen, Williams Hunt Delta and Nissan Eastern Cape have already reserved their space.

Bok van Blerk, Centrestage comedian Gino Fabri and the Kouga Community Choir will entertain festival-goers, while AlgoaFM will be broadcasting from their Hit Mobile.

Additional activities include a kiddies zone, an Arkfit Crossfit Challenge and a colour run.

“Kouga Municipality supports the festival wholeheartedly,” says Kouga Municipal Manager Charl du Plessis. “We are optimistic that the festival will be a great opportunity for local businesses to take hands, network and, most important, attract people to the Kouga region – especially during the quieter months of the year.”
