A family in Patensie have been frantically searching for their 18-month-old English Staffy since January 30, and have explored various avenues, such as walking thousands of steps in the bush on their 7 000-hectare farm, using thermal drones, making posters, and have made use of an animal communicator, to get their precious dog back.

Bianca Eke said that her parents, Kevin and Ben, and her grandfather, moved with their two dogs from Gqeberha to Patensie last year while she remained in the city.

She said that while her parents recently travelled to New Zealand, her grandfather took care of their two dogs, Matilda and Rigby, on their farm, Tuinskloof, in Patensie.

After the two dogs left for a walk along the farm on January 30, Rigby returned without Matilda, and she has been missing for more than a week.

“Matilda is like my mother’s baby, and she has been heart sore ever since she went missing,” said Eke. She said that they have exhausted all resources.

“We have walked tens of thousands of steps in the bush, gotten thermal drones in, made posters, and we have used and continue to use, an animal communicator to bring her home,” said Eke.

Further elaborating on her use of an animal communicator, she said that she was referred to Deer Heart Connection, a highly-recommended animal communication reader.

According to the Deer Heart Connection Facebook page their animal communicator, known as Albè, communicates telepathically with animals, living, and in spirit.

Eke said that after requesting a reading from Albè she was informed that Matilda initially lost her way while chasing a fluffy creature but could not catch it.

“Once the chase was done she suddenly realised that she had lost Rigby, and being curious, she continued to pick up on new scents in the area. The sun set and she suddenly felt disoriented,” the reading said. “At some point she crossed a vast open, sandy space, which led her to a bushy space close to water. She reached the water after about one sun (one day). She managed to drink water and continued to explore the area. She is moving close to the water, but she feels completely disoriented and lost.”

Matilda is an English Staffy dog and is just over a year old.

The reading further said that Matilda is moving along Tuinskloof River and that she was heading for rows of trees which Eke assumes are orchards at a nearby farm.

Despite appreciating the reading from the animal communicator, she said that she still does not know if Matilda is alive or not.

Eke said they have hired a person who tracks animals, and they will be visiting the area soon.

She said that since they are new to the area, they do not know any of the neighbouring farmers and are therefore requesting assistance from anyone who has seen Matilda.

“We still do not have any leads and would appreciate any help,” said Eke.

She further said that they are offering a reward of R5 000.
