Chief Wayne Petersen was sworn in as a PR Councillor of Kouga Municipality during an Ordinary Council meeting on June 30.
He replaces Malibongwe Dayimani, who resigned.
A new Kouga mayor is also expected to be elected at the council meeting.
This comes after former executive mayor of Kouga, Horatio Hendricks, was appointed as a DA member in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.
