To recognise all pruners and pickers in the Gamtoos Valley, Felco will host their highly-anticipated annual citrus pruning and picking competition on August 23 and 24 at the NexusAG 49 (Pty) LTD – Patensie Depot.
The first competition was held in Patensie in 2019, and after a two-year halt to the competition due to the pandemic, the competition was held again in September last year for farmworkers in the Gamtoos Valley.
During last year’s event, Liberty Mutsvanga was crowned the pruning champion, while Regan Bantom was the champion of the picking contest.
With Louis Liebenberg from Felco, assisted by Tinkie Muller (NEXUSAG 49) and Lelanie de Bruin (Die “Shop”), this year’s event is set to be even bigger than in previous years.
