A reward of R5 000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects who robbed House of Chic in Voortrekker Street, Humansdorp.
According to owner Lettie Watson, the suspects gained access to the building through the roof.
“They removed some of the roof tiles and managed to deactivate the alarm by cutting the wires that lead to the alarm control box,” says Watson who made the shocking discovery last week Thursday when she was about to open for business at 08:15.
Items stolen include wedding dresses, matric farewell dresses, bridesmaid dresses, shoes and jewellery.
“They are all very expensive items to replace,” says Mostert. “Some of the dresses were especially ordered from overseas for the upcoming matric farewells later this month.”
Other items such as computer equipment and a microwave were also stolen.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information that could lead to the successful arrest of the suspect or suspects, is urged to contact the investigating officer, Constable Oscar Hewu at 083 353 6591.
All information shared will be treated as confidential.
