AUTHOR, adventurer and inspirational speaker, Joey Evans, is set to inspire residents and visitors at the FNB Business Breakfast to take place at NG Gamtoosvallei-Oos from 09:00 to 11:00 onJune 13.
Ten years after breaking his neck and crushing his spinal cord, leaving him completely paralysed from just below the chest, Evans qualified to race the 9 000km Dakar Rally – one of the most dangerous off-road races in the world.
He will share a message of determination in the face of insurmountable odds. A true life struggle of chasing a dream, while not only overcoming physical disabilities, but also living in the real world with its daily pressures and struggles, will emerge from his talk.
He will be joined by Head of Information and Marketing Agriculture FNB Dawie Maree.
Maree, who gained extensive experience and insight into global and local agricultu-ral economics and industries as a senior economist at the MPO and AgriSA, is responsible for keeping decision makers in the bank and the bank’s clients informed about economic and other developments in the agricultural and broader community.
He is also responsible for expanding the FNB Agriculture brand in the market through various actions, including presentations and conferences, farmers’ days and other important agricultural events.
As a contributer to the Dairy Mail, functionary of the Commercial Policy Committee of Agri SA and a member of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Maree has been active in addressing issues such as disaster management and the linking of farmers to markets.
Tickets, that include a meal, cost R150 per person and R1 200 per table of eight.
