St Francis College in St Francis Bay is holding a month-long silent auction to raise funds for the school – a first for the esta-blishment.

Items to come under the hammer, include a weekend away, a canal cruise, soccer lessons, and a “barrel of booze in a barrow.

Also on the auction list are deep sea fishing, a scrumptious meal, a veggie box, a cleaning hamper, XBox One S, a hair cut and blow dry, a four ball, a vegetable garden start-up kit, vouchers, horse riding, tennis lessons and some of the best carrot cupcakes.

The items are on display at the school hall and will be on display at the Links on July 30.

How to bid

All items will have a lot number and reserve price that is determined as a percentage of the fair market value.

Only bids in 10% increments will be included.

For example, if the reserve price is R100, only bids of R110, R120 and more will be accepted. If the reserve price is R2 000, interested parties can bid R2 200, R2 400 and more.

Bidding forms are available at St Francis College.

The highest bids will be added to the bidding sheets in the school hall.

The auction will come to an end with a bid reveal evening, in conjunction with the annual school concert, at the St Francis Links Clubhouse on Tuesday, July 30.

All bidding closes with the start of the concert at 18:00.

The successful bidders will be announced at the school social event after the school concert.
