Hundreds of less-privileged residents received much-needed food parcels amid the national lockdown period. A “miracle” for hungry residents. The St Francis Rotary Club – in conjunction with the St Francis United Church, the local Disaster Volunteer Group (DVG) and the Samaritans – have distributed over 1 000 food parcels to residents in Sea Vista since the second week in April. Each food parcel, at a cost of R200, contains essential products like maize-meal, sugar, eggs, rice, soup packets, flour, milk and oil. Sourced and assembled through the Village SuperSpar, the parcels were delivered to the various areas within the Sea Vista community – including the informal settlements.
