A staff member has been injured after the Post Office in Thornhill was robbed this morning, Tuesday, October 5.
According to police spokesperson, Sgt. Majola Nkohli, at approximately 07:30, one unknown man entered the Post Office, accosted a security guard and held him at gunpoint. The security guard was then disarmed.
“Thereafter, three unknown men, also armed with firearms, walked in and went to the manager’s office. The manager was pistol whipped and she sustained an open wound to the head,” Nkohli explained. He added that an undisclosed amount of cash and the manager’s handbag were also taken.
“The suspects fled in a white Nissan NP200 bakkie. A case of business robbery was opened for further investigation.”
