BRENTON’S Swim School in Jeffreys Bay is now offering a free swim lesson assessment for young children aged 24-months and older, who need to learn to swim.
“At Brenton’s Swim School, we believe that everyone should know how to swim. Our swim lessons are designed to teach this lifelong skill to children of all skill levels in a safe environment,” said local open water swimmer and swim instructor, Brenton Williams, who set a unique record at the 2012 Bell Buoy Challenge in Port Elizabeth when he became the first man ever to swim the race using only the butterfly stroke.
Williams was, furthermore, named one of the world’s 50 most adventurous open water men in 2015 and 2017.
He was a member of the team that set a new record of a 350km continual open water swimming relay at Marina Martinique in Jeffreys Bay and has set the South African record for the longest non-stop butterfly open water swim.
According to Williams, swimmers who want help with their swim strokes can also book a free assessment.
The swim school will, furthermore, offer free squad assessments, as well as entry level squad training.
“Swim costumes are required for all swimmers, as well as goggles and swim caps for swimmers doing the assessment for swim stroke and squad training lessons,” said Williams.
Learn-to-swim and stroke lesson assessments will take place from 15:00 to 16:00 on a Friday and from 08:00 – 09:00 on a Saturday at the indoor heated pool at Exclusive Fitness in Diaz Road, Jeffreys Bay.
Squad lesson assessments will take place from 16:00 to 17:00 on a Friday and from 09:00 to 10:00 on a Saturday.
Each assessment is 10 minutes and will work on a first-booked first-served basis.
