Members of the Nifty Fifty Club in Jeffreys Bay for retired persons recently undertook their annual trip away, along the Garden Route, enjoying nature and all it has to offer.
It included towns like Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness, George and Hoekwil.
The fun started with a scenic boat trip up the Keurbooms River. During the tranquil trip, the club members enjoyed the bird life and unspoiled nature, during a picnic lunch on a beach area among the trees.
More adventures
The group had a two-night stay at the Wilderness Hotel. The area is known for its breathtaking scenery of forests, lakes, mountains and coastline.
The next day, the group travelled to George and visited the Outeniqua Transport Museum, where a number of historic locomotives, coaches and other vehicles are on display. This was followed by a trip on the Power Van rail buses up the Outeniqua Mountain.
The trip ended in the quaint town of Hoekwil, near Wilderness. On the way back to Jeffreys Bay, they visited the craft markets at Sedgefield and Harkerville.
