Jeffreys Bay: Visitor from Gauteng allegedly commits suicide on main beach

Police have opened an inquest docket after the body of a 49-year-old man was found at the main beach in Jeffreys Bay yesterday morning, 25 March.

According to Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, police spokesperson, police were summoned to a scene at the main beach at around 04:00, where it was alleged that an unknown man committed suicide with a firearm.

“At the scene, police found a lifeless body of a 49-year-old man and a firearm next to the body. Circumstances surrounding the incident are forming part of the investigation. The name of the deceased person, who is originally from Gauteng province, will only be released after his relatives have been notified,” Nkholi said.
