Local model, Leané Müller, from ACE Models in Jeffreys Bay, has made it her mission to educate young girls about endometriosis.

Müller will participate in the Miss Teen World South Africa pageant finals in Gauteng, on June 10.

Charné Scorgie, director of ACE Models, said that Müller had entered the pageant to use the platform to empower young girls within her community, South Africa and, ultimately, the world.

In addition to empowering young girls, she said that the young model also raises awareness about endometriosis, as well as period poverty.

“She has been struggling with endometriosis since the age of 14, and helping other girls going through the same experience lies very close to her heart,” said Scorgie.

Despite the challenges she has faced, she has remained focused on her dream of becoming a model.

To positively contribute to her community, she has partnered with One Village, a non-profit organisation in Jeffreys Bay that focuses on building a better future for the community.

“Getting involved in the community is not just something she does; it is part of who she is,” said Scorgie.

She said that Müller initially got involved with community projects when she was at Nico Malan High School and formed part of the Interact Group, a group which focuses on making a difference in the community.

Scorgie said that the group embarked on various projects, including collecting dog food and blankets for the SPCA, planting trees, collecting tinned food for donation and donating stationery to children in need.

Müller matriculated in 2022.

Scorgie said that Miss Teen World is one of World South Africa Pageants’ (WSAP) feature events.

She said that the Miss Teen World SA winner will have the opportunity of representing South Africa in the international pageant, Miss Teen World, which will be held in Ecuador, South America.

With the pageant only months away, Scorgie is hoping businesses and individuals will support Müller during her journey to make her dream a reality.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me thus far. I am incredibly grateful to be in this position and would not be able to do it without all the love and support,” said Müller.
