Detectives in Humansdorp are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of Nkosoxolo Katikati (23), who died in a fire during the early hours of Saturday morning, May 6, in Kwanomzamo.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that at about 03:30 on May 6, neighbours woke up to the smell of smoke.
He said when the neighbours went to investigate, they found the house near the Golf Course in Kwanomzamo was already gutted.
“The body of a man was found inside the burnt house,” said Naidu.
She said the deceased is not from the area and is from Butterworth.
Naidu said the address of the next of kin is unknown.
She said an inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.
