Man (25) dies, three sustain serious injuries after two vehicles collide on N2 near Jeffreys Bay

SAPS Jeffreys Bay detectives are investigating a culpable
homicide after a 25-year-old man died in a motor vehicle accident on the N2
near Jeffreys Bay earlier today, September 18.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van
Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 05:30, this morning, September
18, police responded to a complaint of an accident involving two vehicles.

She said that on arrival they were informed that a Suzuki
S-presso was traveling from Gqeberha towards Humansdorp and a VW Caddy was
travelling in the opposite direction.

Janse Van Rensburg said that it was further alleged that the
Suzuki overtook another vehicle on a solid white line and collided head-on with
the VW Caddy. 

“The driver (25) of the Suzuki succumbed to his injuries on
the scene, while the driver and two children in the VW Caddy sustained serious
injuries and were transported to hospitals in Gqeberha,” said Janse Van
Rensburg.

She said that the name of the deceased will be released once
the next of kin has been informed.
