Four men killed in Humansdorp in alleged gang-related incident

Acting Provincial Commissioner, Maj Gen Zithulele Dladla has
called on the community of Vaaldam in Humansdorp to assist police in speedily
tracing those responsible for the shooting of four men whose bodies were found
at a house in Vaaldam this morning, October 13.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu,
it is alleged that four men aged between 20 and 25 years old were last seen last
night, October 12, after leaving a house in Ambraal Street in Vaaldam.

She said that this morning, October 13, a neighbour alerted
the owner of the house who is also the mother of one of the deceased that the
backdoor of the house in Mphondo Street, was broken down.

“The bodies of the four men were found dead with bullet
wounds to the head,” said Naidu.

She said that it is suspected that the incident is gang-related
and that the suspects are unknown at this stage.

Naidu further said that the names of the deceased will be
released after a formal identification.

She said that the police are investigating four murder
counts and are appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing the suspects to

Dladla has condemned such acts of violence and has called
for those responsible to be arrested.

“I urge the communities to come forward with information and
work with the police in ensuring the safety of citizens in Humansdorp,” said
Dladla.
