Non-profit organisation, JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary, which sterilises at least 80 animals each month in the Kouga region, is located in Ocean View Township in Jeffreys Bay. The organisation is looking for forever homes for two dogs and two cats.
Sanctuary manager, Cindy Muller, said that they have many new cats and kittens brought into the sanctuary, especially at this time of the year which they refer to as “kitty season”.
“Even though we tell cat owners we will sterilise their cats for them to take home with them, they insist on handing over their adult cat and kittens,” said Muller.
She said that Sunny is a young male cat about eight or nine months old, with an interesting story.
Muller said a couple from France were travelling through South Africa in their van when they found Sunny at a caravan park in Kirkwood.
“While they were at the caravan park, they posted about the cat on Facebook in the hope that they might find the owners,” said Muller.
She said that when they received no feedback the cat continued travelling with the couple.
Unfortunately, Muller said that the couple leave for France soon, and are hoping to find new owners to take care of the cat.
