The Assisi SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has announced that its chairperson, Gerhardt Fouché, now serves on the board of directors of the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA).

Directorship on the board is in terms of the constitution of the NSPCA, and subject to certain requirements.

The management committee of the Assisi SPCA elected Fouché as its representative to serve on the NSPCA Board.

I am extremely proud to be associated with the SPCA for the last six years, and that I could be part of positioning our Society where it is today. I consider myself truly honoured and blessed.
Fouché

Committee members are all volunteers with unique skills contributing to the management of a unique and sensitive environment involving the lives of animals.

All SPCAs countrywide are reliant on the goodwill of the community and in the case of the Assisi SPCA relying on the support of Kouga residents during fundraising initiatives.

The NSPCAs Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday, October 21, when the incumbent board of directors was officially welcomed.

Members of the public wishing to become part of the Assisi SPCA as management committee members are welcome to contact email chair@spcaassisi.com

“We would also like to build our fundraising team and general membership,” added Fouché.
