In Jeffreys Bay, where the Joshua Project dedicates their time to aid vulnerable children, two young models from Ace Models JBay have stepped up to make a difference.
Meet Liliana Mulder (9) and Luzelle Oelofse (15), both new additions to the Class of 2024 at the modelling agency.
On one side of the story, for over two decades the Joshua Project has provided a haven for under-privileged children with support through the MEND process, Mentoring, Educating, Nurturing, and Discipling, all while they rely on the generosity of donators and benefactors.
Without the generosity of supporters like Mulder and Oelofse, their work would not be possible.
On the other side, at Ace Models JBay, empowering young people is also at the core of their mission. Through public speaking, life skills development, and building self-confidence, they instil a sense of social responsibility into all their students.
This inspired Mulder and Oelofse to embark on a fundraising journey for the Joshua Project.
Partnering with fellow Ace Models and students from JBay Academy, the girls organised a creative fundraiser. Children coloured pictures, which parents purchased, resulting in a donation of R1 400 to the Joshua Project.
Charné Scorgie, the franchise owner of Ace Models JBay, expressed her admiration for the girls’ initiative.
“Their creative fundraiser perfectly embodies our model development goals. It’s a testament to the power of teamwork and community involvement,” she said.
Mulder and Oelofse’s efforts have sent a message: “Age is no barrier to making a positive impact”. As they continue to shine on the runway, their compassion for their community shines even brighter, inspiring others to follow.
