Jolly Dolphin, a popular entertainment venue in Jeffreys Bay, will continue to operate during the December holiday period despite its owner, Vasti Opperman, appearing in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on December 11 where she faces 10 counts of fraud.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luxolo Tyali confirmed that Opperman’s bail application was postponed yesterday and continued today, December 12.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, Opperman, representing Arcus Investments, was arrested on November 27 on fraud charges.

“She is facing 10 counts of fraud and appeared in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on December 11 for a bail application,” said Nkohli.

Meanwhile, despite Opperman’s fraud case, it is business as usual at Jolly Dolphin, with the establishment expected to remain open during the busy December period.

As in previous years, Jolly Dolphin is expected to host a busy line-up of well-known national artists at their JBay Rocks and JBay Bash shows from December 16 to 31.

Performances by artists such as Early B, Jack Parow, and Snotkop are lined up.

Jane Van Jaarsveld, the manager of Jolly Dolphin, confirmed that the establishment would remain open.

“I have been informed that Jolly Dolphin will remain open this December period,” said Van Jaarsveld.
