HUMANSDORP – The Jongilanga Service Centre recently hosted an All Nations Women’s Prayer event focused on wellness and spiritual healing at the KwaNomzamo Community Hall on 27 August
According to Bongie Meko, project manager at Jongilanga Service Centre, the event was held in a donated container provided by the Kouga Windfarm Community Development Trust behind the community hall.
“The theme of our event was wellness and spiritual healing, with our scripture reading from 3 John 1:2,” said Meko.
The event featured guest speakers addressing important health topics.
Sister Ingrid Williams spoke about cervical cancer, while Mesuli Jiya from Social Development addressed depression.
The programme included a prayer by Babalwa Ketse, who opened the event, and Apostle Pumela Mdolo, who delivered the word of God.
Environmental activist, Thina Mnini, also attended, along with representatives from the Sunshine Elderly Centre in Jeffreys Bay.
Meko said the Mayibuye Civic Movement donated money and t-shirts that will be worn at the Golden Games in Hankey on 5 September.
“Other donors who made our event successful included Alizwa Busakwe from Woodlands Dairy, Imbo Mbila from Goodyear in Gqeberha, and Juanita Mkwayi from Humansdorp Spar,” said Meko.
She particularly thanked Roger Dedoncker from TCS Wi-Fi, who donated free Wi-Fi for senior citizens.
“Our project is growing by God’s grace. We are touching more lives through wellness programmes, spiritual healing and care for our senior citizens,” said Meko.
The organisation invites individuals, families, businesses and organisations to partner with them through donations and support.
