A 38-year-old woman was arrested by the Komani police in Ezibeleni for concealment of birth on Monday, 21 March.
Police spokesperson, captain Namhla Mdleleni, said a witness heard a baby crying while the suspect locked herself inside the toilet.
“Police were summoned and on arrival found a baby inside a plastic bag. A case of concealment of birth was opened and the suspect is under police guard at the Frontier Hospital,” Mdleleni said.
