The Graaff–Reinet Water Crisis group received a huge donation of water from participants in the Protection and Security Services headquarters’ National Key Point shooting programme. Police and security officials, all who are protecting a National Key Point, like Eskom, Necsa, Sasol and the Reserve Bank, took part. Organiser, captain Tina van Wyngaard, said that all those involved mobilised late on Thursday night to donate to the Graaff–Reinet Water Crisis group. They also reminded participants to use water sparingly during their visit to the town. Major General Malekgotla Matsepe–Masemola, patron of the annual NKP National Shooting Programme, handed the water over to Rosemary Scheepers from Camdeboo National Park. Corene Conradie of the Graaff-Reinet Water Crisis group said that this is the first governmental organisation to reach out to them during the drought. Photo:ELSABÉ PIENAAR
