A case of culpable homicide is under investigation following
a head-on collision between two trucks, which caught alight shortly after
impact, on the N10 between Cookhouse and Paterson last night, February 22, at
approximately 19:30.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, the
body of an unknown man was found near one of the burnt trucks.

“The drivers of both trucks and a co-driver from one of the
trucks are in a stable condition at a PE hospital,” said Govender.
“The cause of the accident is not known and will form part
of the investigation.”
Govender said the police, Traffic officials and other emergency personnel are currently at
the scene.
“One lane is currently opened. Drivers are urged to exercise
caution and patience whilst travelling through the Olifantskop Pass as recovery
operations are taking place,” she said.
