ON Saturday, April 12, six netball players from Templeton High School in Bedford tackled the long journey to East London to take part in the final round of the Eastern Cape Netball Trials.
The trials were played at P Kuswag for the u/15 to u/18 age groups.
The six players, Samantha Jacobs (u/16), Jerry-Ann Botha (u/17), Zukhanye Nkothobe, Benn-Gay April, Beverly Elliot and Okuhle-Kodwa Noganda (all u/18), already exceeded all expectations by making it to the final rounds, since Templeton netball is in its rebuilding phase.
At the end of the day, there was joy and elation for two of the six netballers, who managed to play their way into the Eastern Cape provincial teams.
Elliot and April were selected to represent the Eastern Cape u/18 team at the All Ages National Netball Tournament.
The event will take place in Boksburg from June 16 to 20.
