A
successful combined operation lead to the arrest of two suspects and the
recovery of stolen property on July 8, in Whittlesea, a few kilometres outside
of Komani.
According
to police spokesperson Captain Ursula Roelofse, on Friday, July 8, at about
16:00, positive information was received by members of Crime Intelligence about
two men who were in possession of suspected stolen property at a house in Sada
location in Whittlesea.
“The
information was immediately followed up together with the Whittlesea detectives
and the operation was conducted successfully with the arrest of two suspects aged
22 and 23,” said Roelofse.
She
said the investigation continued on July 10, at about 14:00 where a follow up
was made by the Whittlesea detectives who searched a house at Sada locality and
the following stolen property were recovered, a Dell laptop, computer
keyboard, mouse, camera, glass storage bag, sunglasses, bandages, phone
charger and braai firelighters.
The value of the stolen property is R6500.
The
District Commissioner Mayor General Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the
successful combined operation that made the successful arrests and recoveries
possible.
“Thank
you to the community for the positive information and that they reject and
report the stolen goods,” said Adolph.
